Wen- Xi Chen paints tragedies in the dead of night to the sweet sound of Opeth and is a pathology student by day in one of the oldest and most hellish educational establishments in the UK. This leaves very little time for that activity known as sleep, and so exists in a perpetual state of spaciness.

She started to paint digitally at the age of 13 and, realising the number of expensive oil brushes she'd save from the consequence of not washing, has never looked back since.

Online, she goes by the alias acid lullaby, which is a quote from an interview with the band Placebo. So now you know, quit asking.

Here's a FAQ... yes really

Q: What do you use to paint with?
A: Most of the work you see by me online is created using a Wacom Tablet (Intuos2) in Photoshop or Painter Classic/ Painter X or both

Q: Can I use your pictures for my non-profit something or other?
A : You may IF you do not change the orientation, colours of the painting or add or take away significantly from the picture. It may be used for NON-COMMERCIAL and NON-PROFIT reasons only, Notify me if you do use an image, my name must be visible somewhere on the picture, and a link to acidlullaby.net must be placed either on the picture or on a website associated with the picture. NO USE for anything associated with pornography, hatred or religion.

Q: What brushes do you use?
A: In Photoshop, mostly dotted brushes set to low spacing % and opacity: pen pressure. I also use the hardedged round brushes with similar settings.

Q: OMG someone is stealing your work! What shall we do?
A: First of all make sure they really ARE stealing... check that it is not a commissioned or licensed image (e.g. stop harrassing Alverno College, they paid for that picture). I will list my publications on this website. If it is on Deviantart or Photobucket and not posted under the username "acidlullaby" then feel free to report them.

Q: Do you take commissions?
A: Yup, if I am on vacation or particularly free for some reason. E-mail me (e-mail on contact page) for a quote.

Q: Do you take requests?
A: Unless you're a close friend or relative, I don't work for free

Q: How did you paint (insert painting name here)?
A: Since I can't explain how I paint everytime someone asks, check out my tutorials and work in progress pictures. Getting a hold of a copy of one of the magazines or books in which I explain how I work will also help *hinthint*
